Tandoori Hut
About This Spot
Step inside Tandoori Hut and you’re greeted by a warm, inviting space where the rhythm of a quiet Seattle afternoon slows just enough to welcome conversation and calm. Soft lighting and subtle, familiar Indian melodies set a comfortable tone, inviting you to settle in and explore the rich layers of flavor woven through the menu. It’s the kind of place where time seems to stretch between bites, encouraging you to savor not only the food but the moments around the table.
This neighborhood spot feels genuinely lived-in, a little tucked-away gem where the ever-present kindness of the hosts enriches the experience nearly as much as the meal itself. The pace here is unhurried, perfectly matching the care taken with each dish—the balance of spices, the gentle smokiness from the tandoori oven, and the comforting heartiness of familiar curries and biryanis. Plates arrive generously portioned, each carrying a warmth and straightforward honesty that invites sharing or quiet reflection over a solo meal.
The menu proudly embraces the diversity of North Indian and Pakistani flavors, with a thoughtful nod to seafood and vegetarian preferences, ensuring there’s something to please every palate. The aroma of freshly baked naan mingles with fragrant, spiced broths; tangy chutneys and cooling raitas offer subtle counterpoints that round out the experience. It’s not just about filling your plate—but about finding little moments of delight in each bite, whether it’s the bright zing of a mango lassi or the soft sweetness of a gulab jamun to close the evening.
What stands out perhaps most is the genuine coziness of the setting and the kindness embedded in every interaction—from the knowledgeable recommendations to the unpretentious service that makes you feel more like a welcomed guest than a customer. Whether it’s a spontaneous holiday dinner or a regular weekday stop for takeout, Tandoori Hut holds onto a quiet joy in the simplicity of good food and the human connections it sparks.

I love this place. The food is always delicious and fresh. But more than that, the owners and people working are always friendly and kind. Definitely worth the visit. I frequently do take out, but the atmosphere is cozy and quiet, so stick around for a meal.

Friendly staff and the service was very fast, got seated right away. Got served really quick even though there were enough people already. Ordered kadhai paneer, sahi paneer, chicken biryani and kadhai chicken. Curry was really tasty felt authentic. Not watery or creamy at all. Biryani was dry and not like the one mixed with curry later. Fresh naan breads were great combo with the curry to satisfy the hunger after a long day in Seattle Pike place and downtown area. We were seated in the patio and the shade was perfect with cold breeze. Would really recommend it for lunch and dinner. Definitely coming back to try other items on the menu!

Okay, good to try. Wouldn't recommend chicken soup here; it was not water and more like a sambar. Like other Indian restaurants in foreign countries, they have changed the taste too. Curries tasted sweet and not is spicy hot.

We went in on Christmas day for dinner on a whim, and it turned out to be such a wonderful experience. The food was homely and rich with spices, and the service was equally warm. We got free potato pastries (aloo?) as an appetizer, and ordered some garlic and basil naan and butter chicken on the waitresses’s recommendation. The naan was fluffy and seasoned perfectly; it somehow manages to taste good both alone and dipped in the butter chicken sauce. We also got basmati rice on the house, and with all the generous Christmas freebies we ended up having a box full of leftovers that fed us well a few days later. The food is great, the service is excellent, and the atmosphere is fun and homey - I highly recommend coming here for a meal!

It was such a wonderful experience!! and i highly recommend coming here. Such a cozy atmosphere, the music was great and the food was delicious! The mango lemonade was so delicious, as well as the chai. Our waitress was lovely and so kind and informative & gave great recommendations and let us try some of their new menu items. Will absolutely come back again!!!

The food was great! And our service was so nice and welcoming! Would come back. We got the garlic naan, goat biryani, mango lassi, and prawn coconut curry.

I haven’t been there for a while and I felt that may have changed owner/chef? The food doesn’t taste as good (still very decent) and they changed their dish container. Very nice staff. No central AC but they do their best to keep you cool on a hot day.

I really love Tandoori Hut, the food is always delicious, full of flavor, and they always make my chai just right! The service is always wonderful! No matter if I’m ordering takeout or dinning in.. It’s like stepping into a friend/family home. They’re always so warm, kind, and generous.
